New Hotel In Mauritius

Alexandre Espitalier-Noël, head of Sun Resorts, in Paris, has announced a 100-million dollar investment for the construction of a new hotel to replace Coco Beach. It was launched along with a promotional campaign for clients who have reserved rooms at Touessrock during festivities marking the 30 years of the hotel. He also underlined that the French market had become the first source of tourists for Sun Resorts since 2007. “We have noted a growth of 8% on this market from January to August 2008,” he said. The announcement came after the successful 'Top Résa' tourism fair in Paris where the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority displayed the charms and advantages offered by the hospitality industry. Air Mauritius and Sun Resorts hosted a dinner for friends and partners at the well known Michel Rostang Restaurant at the Champs Elysée. Air Mauritius and Sun Resorts welcomed officials of the MTPA, tour operators and the media and expounded the different services offered and projects conceived in order to better promote the tourism industry in Mauritius. Philippe Brieu, representative of Air Mauritius in Paris, told guests that Top Résa 2008 was the appropriate event to launch the new configuration of Air Mauritius Business class, the 2-2-2 seats arrangement , giving more comfort topassengers. “We have been successful in creating the proper atmosphere of warmth in the sky. The French market remains our main source of foreign passengers from Europe and we are making the most to extend our exceptional services under all circumstances,” he said. Arnaud Martin, head of the commercial department of Sun Resorts, underlined the exceptional partnership of Sun Resorts and Air Mauritius and mentioned that year 2008 will be more difficult than 2007 “but the synergy created between Sun Resorts, Air Mauritius and Soléa Vacances allows us to look at the future with serenity.”
